Presidential Search Survey

As the Presidential Search process gets underway, the Board of Trustees would appreciate insights from the University’s students, faculty, staff, and administrators about the qualities and competencies you hope for in your new President. A survey has been created so that your feedback can be considered in the design of the Position Description that will be used to recruit candidates. I request that you complete the survey by Friday, April 25, 2014. Your input into our search is very important to our Board of Trustees.

USD Recognized by the San Diego Blood Bank

The University of San Diego was recognized by the San Diego Blood Bank on April 10, 2014 and was named "Partners for Life" for surpassing their 2013-2014 collection goal. Thank you to all USD community donors, Parking Services, and USD sponsoring organizations M.E.Ch.A and Human Resources.

If your department or student organization is interested in sponsoring a USD blood drive, please contact Toñis Manríquez at tonis@sandiego.edu or x4329.

A very special thank you to Toñis Manríquez for all of her work and dedication to coordinating 12 SDBB blood drives this past year.

Employee Recognition & Powerful Partnership Awards

The Employee Development Committee is now accepting nominations for the Student Affairs Thomas F. Burke Employee of the Year Award and the Student Affairs Powerful Partnerships Award.

The Thomas F. Burke Employee of the Year Award is awarded to Student Affairs employees who exemplify the traits and values instilled upon the Division of Student Affairs during Tom Burke's 28 years of leadership: character, sense of humor, common sense, honesty, "others" centered, respectful, focus on employee and student development, competent, consistently supportive of the university's Catholic tradition, help for students and employees to fulfill the potential within themselves, and the gift of love to others.

The Student Affairs Powerful Partnership Award is designed to recognize departments or offices that have worked with the Student Affairs Division to enhance the integrated learning educational experience opportunities on campus.

Nomination forms can be found here. Nominations are due on May 9 for both awards and the winners will be recognized at the Student Affairs End of the Year breakfast on June 3rd in Hahn UC Forum C.

We look forward to receiving your nominations!
