MAP-Works Fall Transition Survey Launches!

On Tuesday, September 24th, an email invitation with a unique access link was sent to all first-year students to complete the MAP-Works Fall Transition Survey. This survey asks students how their transition to USD has been so far related to a variety of factors (academic, social, on-campus living, etc.).  You can support this effort by encouraging first-year students you are connected with to complete the survey by Wednesday, October 2.

Based on student responses, professional staff and student leaders (including PAs and RAs) will be reviewing the responses of students they are connected with. For those first-year students who indicated their transition to USD isn’t going as well as it could be, professional staff will be reaching out personally to offer additional support.

CHR@USD Employee Recognition Award

CHR@USD is now accepting nominations for the Employee Recognition Award, an award aiming to create role models and build morale by communicating noteworthy accomplishments and reinforcing behaviors important to the university. The selection of award recipients is based on how the nominee(s) exemplifies the university’s mission statement, core values and strategic initiatives in an extraordinary fashion. Areas of consideration include excellence in advancing two or more of the following categories:

  • Inclusion and Diversity
  • Social Justice
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Community Outreach
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Service to Students

The program provides cash awards of $250 for up to six deserving USD employees who go above and beyond their job responsibilities.

Take a few minutes to reflect on the many successes of our university and its employees. Are there employees, peers or supervisors you would like to nominate? Co-workers and supervisors may nominate deserving employees.

Please note going forward, only employees nominated for a CHR@USD Employee Recognition Award will be eligible for nomination for the Employee of the Year Award.

The deadline for submitting nominations to Human Resources is Friday, November 1, 2013.

For more information on this award, or to nominate a fellow employee, please visit:
