Student Life Pavilion Open House

Everyone is cordially invited to come to the Student Life Pavilion on September 17 from 12-2pm for an open house! Come visit all of the centers and offices, and check out the new Changemaker space on the 3rd floor!

Conversations with Carmen

Please help us spread the word that Vice President Vazquez is holding an informal sit-down with students on September 19 at 1pm outside Tu Mercado as a part of her "Conversations with Carmen". This is a great opportunity for students to meet the Vice President, Student Affairs to discuss any questions, comments, or concerns. All students are welcome to attend! Carmen is very interested in engaging and supporting each and every Torero!

Please encourage students to attend this conversation!

USD is Breastfeeding Friendly!

USD has been chosen as a winner of the San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition’s 2013 Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplace Award. This summer, the San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition did a site visit and was excited to see our progress in providing resources and support for breastfeeding moms across campus. We have four designated lactation spaces on campus available for use by students, faculty, and staff. Erin Lovette-Colyer will be attending the “Liquid Gold” Gala to receive the award on behalf of the university.

Pregnant and Parenting Student Support – New Website!

A committee of partners from across campus has been working hard to review and expand resources available to our pregnant and parenting students. Check out the new website www.sandiego.edu/pregnantandparenting to learn about all of the resources students can be connected with. Email Erin Lovette-Colyer (elovettecolyer@sandiego.edu) with questions, suggestions, or general praise. Thank you to all committee members who put much time and effort into this initiative (Irene Condella, Daye Izmirian, Jacqueline Kennedy, Kacy Hayes, Michael Lovette-Colyer, Marie Minnick, Yajaira Nunez, Pauline Powell, and Pam Sikes). Efforts to better support students will continue this year.
