USD Selected for MAP-Works Overall Excellence Award
The Center for Student Success is excited to share the University of San Diego has been selected for the national MAP-Works 2012 Overall Excellence Award (Four Year Institution 2,000-10,000)!
This was the first year EBI offered this award and the MAP-Works Excellence Award Committee emphasized the impressive applicant pool from which USD was selected. This award was created to highlight individuals or institutions committed to utilizing MAP-Works to improve student success and retention. The MAP-Works Excellence Award Committee was impressed by our recent initiative to develop a comprehensive implementation plan to integrate existing and new outreach efforts across campus.
As the award recipient, the University of San Diego will receive a complimentary registration for one individual to the Mastering MAP-Works Conference, recognition at the Mastering MAP-Works Conference, an invitation to present a session at the MAP-Works Conference and an opportunity to collaborate on campus highlight publication.
Congratulations to all of our on-campus collaborators and MAP-Works users for this exciting recognition!
Employee Recognition Award
The Employee Development Committee is now accepting nominations for the Student Affairs Thomas F. Burke Employee of the Year Award and the Student Affairs Powerful Partnerships Award.
The Thomas F. Burke Employee of the Year Award is awarded to Student Affairs employees who exemplify the traits and values instilled upon the Division of Student Affairs during Tom Burke's 28 years of leadership: character, sense of humor, common sense, honesty, "others" centered, respectful, focused on employee and student development, competent, consistently supportive of the University's Catholic tradition, helped students and employees to fulfill the potential within themselves, and the gift of love to others.
The Student Affairs Powerful Partnership Award is designed to recognize departments or offices that have worked with the Student Affairs Division to enhance the integrated learning educational experience opportunities on campus.
Nomination forms can be found at sandiego.edu/studentaffairs/. Nominations are due on May 11 for both awards and the winners will be recognized at the Student Affairs End of the Year breakfast on June 6 in the Jenny Craig Pavilion foyer.
Commencement Marshalls Wanted
We are in need of three more Commencement marshalls for the undergraduate commencement ceremony (including Jason Schreiber, Lupita Jewell and Dr. Ernie Kim). This is a wonderful way to celebrate with the graduating seniors. The marshalls assist students with getting into their seats and across the stage.
Please consider serving our students in this role. The time commitment includes arriving at 8 a.m. and leaving about 4 p.m. Lunch is provided. If you would like to help but can only be there for part of the day, the morning ceremony ends around noon. Arrival for the afternoon ceremony would need to be at 1:30 p.m.
Please let Marie Minnick (email@example.com) know if you can participate.
