Associated Students Election Results
Associated Students election results are in! The turnout was especially high this year with about 20% of the undergraduate population participating last Thursday. A huge thank you goes out to all of the candidates and a big congratulations to the new Associated Students executive team:
Holy Week at the Immaculata
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the week immediately preceding Easter. Holy Week builds through the Triduum, a name which refers to Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. The commemoration and celebration of Jesus’ passion and resurrection make Holy Week the most important time of the church year.
Since USD will not be in session during Holy Week, those who will be on campus are most welcome and encouraged to attend the liturgies held in The Immaculata. The schedule is as follows:
Palm Sunday: Sunday, March 24th 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.
The daily Masses in Founders Chapel will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week at 12:15 p.m.
Campus Connections has compiled 25 quick and easy tips for having fun and staying safe during spring break which can be found on the Torero Life website. Please share this with anyone who might benefit from this information!
USD One Challenge
We want to share information about an exciting competition that involves everyone at USD, staff, faculty and students! The USD One Challenge is a perfect opportunity to engage as a department. The topic for the 2013 Challenge is "The Environment: Wasteful Production & Consumption". To enter this contest all you have to do is register for the contest and submit a creative idea to tackle the issue in a two-minute video. Four ideas will receive an award of $2,000 each and public recognition. One of the four awards will be given to a department with the best idea on how to make the campus more sustainable.

Changemaker Summer Fellows Program
The 2013 Changemaker Summer Fellows program supports students wanting to explore changemaking opportunities by providing financial support and mentoring. This initiative promotes students’ understanding of social issues and social justice as they actively participate in a community-based or social enterprise experience, locally or abroad. The program offers $2,000 for students to develop their skills in framing social issues and creating innovative approaches to addressing them. Learn more about the program here.
This is a very exciting opportunity to share with your students! Applications are due April 12!
