United Front Community Lunch

Safe Space Allies Training

Register here to be part of the next Safe Space Allies Training on Monday, February 13th from 3pm to 5:30pm. The Safe Space Allies Network enhances the ability of students, staff, administrators and faculty to demonstrate proactively and personally the University's core values of community, inclusion, and respect for all - regardless of sexual orientation or other identity.

NCORE Applications!

The Annual National Conference for Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education (NCORE) focuses on the complex task of creating and sustaining comprehensive institutional change designed to improve racial and ethnic relations on campus and to expand opportunities for educational access and success by culturally diverse, traditionally underrepresented populations.

Each year, the UFMC and other University departments sponsor students to attend the conference. To learn more about NCORE, go to http://www.ncore.ou.edu/

Social Innovation Challenge: $30K to Be Distributed amongst Winners

Live out your wildest dream by proposing an idea for creating a social venture.  The Center for Peace and Commerce, in partnership with the USD Changemaker Hub, invites students to make a sustainable impact on the world we live in. The 2012 Social Innovation Challenge aims at helping students transcend from being visionaries to social enterprise owners/ trend setters/ nonprofit founders by providing seed funding ($30,000 to be distributed), mentorship, and guidance from entrepreneurs and the backing of the entire USD community.

West Coast Conference Hall of Honor

USD's inductee into the West Coast Conference Hall of Honor for 2012 is Thomas Burke. Tom's contribution to the progress of our Athletics Department, during our formative years, is unmatched. He spearheaded the move from NCAA Division II to Division I and the West Coast Conference.

Tom will be honored on Saturday March 3, 2012 at a breakfast as part of the WCC tournament at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas. Please pass this on to anyone in your division who knew Tom and might be interested in attending the breakfast. For more information, please contact Brian Fogarty at X4614.
