QPR Gatekeeper Training

Question Persuade Refer is a nationally recognized suicide prevention program that is designed to help identify the warning signs of suicide.

Train to be a QPR Gatekeeper
Monday, February 24, 4:00 pm
Hahn UC 128

In this one-hour training you will learn about national and USD specific statistics on mental health, discuss the myths surrounding suicide, and help to identify behavioral, verbal, and situational warning signs. Join us to practice concrete tools in which to help someone who is seeking assistance.

Did you know?
People thinking about suicide often display clues and other warning signs that they are in trouble.

According to National Statistics, an estimated 1,100 students affiliated with colleges and universities across the country die by suicide every year. By becoming a QPR Gatekeeper, you will learn how to be a resource and to provide assistance to those who are struggling.

  • Recognize the warning signs and risk factors associated with suicide
  • Know what to do or say if you think someone might be at risk for suicide
  • Know where and how to refer someone who is depressed or considering suicide
  • Offer hope

Suicide is preventable. Get trained and be a support for our USD community!
