Rainbow educators Applications

The United Front Multicultural Center would like to invite members of the university community to serve as a Rainbow Educator (RE) for the 2014-2015 academic year. RE's are comprised of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni, and present educational workshops that are interactive, dynamic, and fun, using videos, role playing activities, visualizations, and personal stories.

In support of the USD mission, the purpose of the Rainbow Educator program is to build awareness, educate, and engage the USD community around identities such as sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, and class, while promoting inclusion and visibility of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered (LGBT) community. Rainbow Educators are committed to holding themselves and others accountable for working against all forms of oppression.

Please submit an online application at by clicking on “Becoming a Rainbow Educator”. The application process consists of an online application and a 30-minute interview.

The application deadline is Friday, February 14, 2014. If you have any questions, please e-mail

The Rainbow Educator program is also extending an invitation to participate in the Safe Space Ally Refresher taking place on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
