RA Applications Now Available

Residential Life is excited to announce that RA applications for the 2014-2015 academic year are now available online. They are looking for students who have a desire to contribute to the campus community and who are looking to develop their leadership skills. In addition to room and board, RA's also receive extensive training in crisis management, conflict resolution, confrontation, mediation, time management, event planning, diversity and inclusion, and community development. These are all valuable skills that will help students in the future, regardless of their individual goals. RA's also have a unique opportunity to meet and work with a wide variety of students, faculty, and staff, which serves to enhance their USD experience.

If you know a student with leadership potential, please reach out and encourage them to apply. A timeline of the process is provided below for reference. If you have any questions about the application process, or the RA position please email Pat Marino (


  • January 27-31st – Additional Info Sessions, Times and Locations TBD
  • February 5th – All applications due at 4pm
  • February 8th – Group Process Interviews
  • February 19th – Individual Interview Day
  • March 5th – Decision Letters Sent to Students
  • March 19th – Deadline to accept an RA position

Application Requirements

  • Submit an online application form
  • Attend one information session
  • Participate in Group Process Interviews on February 8th
  • Complete one individual interview on February 19th.
  • All candidates must have a 2.75 or higher GPA at the time that August training begins
  • All candidates must be enrolled full time at USD
  • Candidates are expected to commit to the full academic year

Spring Alcala Bazaar

Please save the date for the Spring Alcalá Bazaar, taking place on Tuesday, February 4 from 11:30 am- 2:30pm in the Hahn UC Forums.

Please note that each organization will be able to reserve just one table. The spring Alcalá Bazaar is indoors and is smaller in size than the fall Alcalá Bazaar, which takes place on Torero Way. For this reason, we also are requesting that maximum 3 organization representatives are present at once.
