Peer Educators Course Participants Wanted The Center for Student Success is partnering with the Marriage and Family Therapy program to offer undergraduate students the opportunity to enroll in the following course this upcoming spring semester-MFTS 365: Current Approaches to Peer Assistance. This 3-unit elective provides students with an introduction to basic counseling skills, training in programming and outreach, and is co-facilitated by Dr. Melissa Halter and Merrick Marino. This course is now going to be offered in the fall and spring semesters! Students who complete this course are eligible to apply to become a Peer Coach in the Center for Student Success or a Sexual Assault Peer Educator through the Women's Center and the Center for Health and Wellness Promotion in future semesters. I would like to ask for your help in identifying academically successful and well-rounded students who may have an interest in learning more about how to effectively support fellow students, as well as someone who you think would excel as a Peer Coach or Sexual Assault Peer Educator. Please forward the name(s) and email addresses of the students you feel would potentially be a great fit for either of these roles to Liz Stephens at estephens@sandiego.edu by Monday, October 15. An email will be sent to these students informing them that they have been identified as a successful student at USD and will be encouraged to enroll (with more information about the course provided). If you have further questions about the course, please contact the Center for Student Success at ext. 5995. Thank you in advance for your assistance and have a great week! Strategic Plan Updates The Strategic Plan Goals and Objectives and Updates for September are now live on the Student Affairs website. If you would like to see the new matrices, click here.
