New Portal Feedback
On Monday, October 21, the USD Portal Team launched a revised portal with the hope that this new design will better serve USD community members. As you may have noticed, the Student Life tab has been renamed "Torero Life" and contains much of the same content as the old tab. However, we will be reviewing all of the material on the new Torero Life tab and proposing changes and improvements to it in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, suggestions or feedback about the new portal, please contact Kenny Eng.
CHR@USD Employee Recognition Nominations Due

The Manuel Hernandez Staff Employee of the Year Award has been presented to an outstanding staff employee every year since 1985. This award is presented every year at our community picnic. Going forward, only employees nominated for a CHR@USD Employe Recognition Award will be eligible for nomination of the Manuel Hernandez Staff Employee of the Year Award.

CHR@USD Award nominations are due November 1.

For more information on the Manuel Hernandez Staff Employee of the year, please check the Human Resources website. If you have any questions, please contact Nina Sciuto (asciuto@sandiego.edu).

Our Newest Torero

In case you missed the announcement on Monday evening, we are happy (and surprised) to announce the arrival of Alessio Mello Bernasconi! Alessio was born on Sunday, October 20, 2013 around 12:30 p.m.

Both Alessio and his parents are doing very well, despite arriving almost a month early! Here are a few photos that Stephanie and Brent shared with us.

CSS Welcomes Back Sarah Rodrigues to USD

We are proud and lucky to welcome back Sarah Rodrigues who previously worked in University Relations for 9 years, most recently serving as Associate Director of Parent Relations. Sarah is also an alum (undergrad and grad) of USD, and worked closely with Athletics during her time here. Sarah will be working M (9-12:30) W (9-5) F (9-12:30). She will be covering some of Stephanie's onsite tasks, such as meeting with clients for student success coaching, reaching out to students who receive mid-term deficiency grades, and processing leaves of absence and withdrawals.
